Comin’ Up Roses

My sister in law wants some rose photos for hanging around the house, so this was a good excuse to get out to Reid Park, walk around with the camera, and come home with 140 shots.  The bees are busy making honey and this shot was both lucky, in that I got the bees, but unlucky in that I blew out some of the highlights.  I recently purchased a 285HV and had planned on playing with it, but after it quit working just like it did yesterday during my family holiday photo shoot, I stuffed it into the bag and brought out my uber reliable 430EX.  This shot was full daylight at 1/200 f25 (yes, 25), with the flash above at 1/8th power and 80mm.
