Recently the lovely wife agreed to get in front of my camera for some shots to send to our people on holiday cards. It was really just a good excuse to get her in front of the camera…and it worked. We got to the spot as the sun was fading (ever tried getting anywhere with a toddler on time?) and I scrambled to get set up. I used a 285HV 1/2-Full into a white umbrella, a 430EX at 1/8th bare on a short stand to camera left and back. You may notice some noise in this photo because when I started shooting, the ISO setting was on 800. Here’s the deal: I started with a Canon AE1 twenty or so years ago and only made the switch to a DSLR at the first of this year, so that ISO button has kicked me in the knees once or twice….or a dozen times. My wife made a sticker for the back of my camera the other day that has “I S O” on it in big black letters. She’s so nice.
