I’m Andy, the photographer behind Yellow Wood Photography and I really like being behind the camera. Life passes us all by quickly and this makes catching the little things that happen and isolating them in time such a joy for me. This is especially true of photographing children.
I’ve been a stay at home dad for the past three years and this has shown me what it takes to get good images of fast moving and somewhat less than fully cooperative subjects. Sometimes folks, both young and old, just don’t like “getting their picture taken” and I can understand this, but it should be looked at as a selfless thing in this case – something you do for others. Not too long ago, I took one of the last photos of someone doing something that they loved. I was able to take a photo of someone truly living before their life was cut short. Consider yourself lucky to be photographed, if only as proof that you lived.
